A man punished his three-year-old daughter for wasting a roll of gold wrapping paper. Nevertheless, the little girl brought the gift to her father. He felt angry when he found the box was empty and yelled at his daughter. The little girl looked up at him with tears and said, “Daddy, it is not empty. I blew kisses into the box and all is for you.” The father hugged his daughter and begged for her forgiveness. Since that, he kept that box for years and whenever he was disappointed. He would take out an imaginary kiss and remember the love from his children. There is no more precious possession that anyone could hold.

On the morning of his graduation, his father called him into his private study and gave him a gift box. The young man opened the box happily but became angry and stormed out of the house when he saw the gift was a Bible. Many years passed, the young man was very successful and had a wonderful family. Before he made arrangements to see his father, he received a telegram telling his father had died. When he arrived at his father’s house, he felt sad and regretful. He found the still new Bible which he had left years ago. He opened the Bible and read the pages which his father underlined with tears. As he read those words, a car key dropped from the back of the Bible. It had a tag with the date of his graduation, and the words “PAID IN FULL.”

U.S. core consumer prices rose less rapidly in July that may reassure the Federal Reserve that inflation pressures are easing. Besides, the index that gets rid of volatile food and energy costs rose 0.2 percent in July. However, the core rise came in below estimates for a 0.3 percent rise. Energy prices climbed a seasonally adjusted 2.9 percent in July. But costs for apparel fell 1.2 percent in June. Goods and services fell 0.2 percent last month after rising 0.6 percent in June. Comparing with the first seven months of 2006 and 2005, core consumer prices have risen at a 3.1 percent annual rate. The Fed held rates steady this month and financial markets are watching closely to gauge whether the U.S. central bank will be able to keep rates on hold as a slowing economy puts the brakes on inflation.

A Heartwarming Comedy – Freaky Friday
Freaky Friday is one of my favorite movies. The reason why I love it not only it is a comedy film but also it shows the relationship between a single and a rebellious daughter. Besides, this movie was acted by my favorite actresses ─ Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan. After seeing this movie, I acquired that people need to learn something from other’s point of view.
Freaky Friday describes Dr. Tess Coleman (Jamie Lee Curtis) and her teenage daughter Anna (Lindsay Lohan) have one thing in common – they don’t relate to each other on anything. Then one night a little mystic mayhem changes their lives and they wake up to the biggest freak-out ever. Tess and Anna are trapped inside each other’s body. However, Tess’s wedding is Saturday and the two must find a way to switch back fast.
Tess and Anna gained respect and understanding for each other while they switched. When Tess became Anna, she needed to go to school instead of going to work. Tess made many jokes in school; however, she realized her daughter’s school life and interest. Tess played guitar and understood the boy which Anna liked. Meanwhile, Anna had to go to work and changed Tess’s hairstyle and clothes. Anna realized her mother’s hard-working and her love to children. Therefore, she could accept Tess’s remarriage. Finally, they changed back because of their love and understanding.
Sometimes, I don’t like my mom’s behavior and discipline. However, after seeing Freaky Friday, I try to think as my mom and understand why she does this to me. I know my mom really loves me and wants me to be good and happy. At the same time, I ask my mom try to think as my position. Therefore, we get closer then ever. Freaky Friday let me learn the great of family.

Winter Vacation Journey
Winter, a very cold and damp weather, but is also a happy season. There are many happy and wonderful festivals in winter, such as Christmas, Chinese New Year, and the most important “Winter Vacation.” I had party or date with my friends in each festival. I had a very great time in this winter.
First, Christmas is one of important and festive holidays. One of my best friends who study abroad in England just comes back Taiwan. I found many friends and had lunch in good restaurant. We ate, talked, and laughed in lunch. It’s difficult for us to gather together. After lunch, we played in park just like kids. It was a very great and happy time.
Second, Chinese New Year is a very important festival to Chinese. Chinese New Year means family get together. We cleaned our house together, we had big dinner together and we shared happy things together. I do love Chinese New Year because I could see many relatives that we can’t meet each other all the time. I always look forward to Chinese New Year when winter comes.
Final, winter vacation is also my favorite festival. I took a trip to Tai-chung with my classmates. We had very happy two days in Tai-chung. I think that it is a very beautiful and convenient city. We ate many delicious foods and visited pretty Lavender Garden. Besides Tai-chung, I also went to Xin-beitou to have hot spring with my best friends. We had hot spring in private room not in public. Having hot spring in cold winter is very wonderful activity. It also has very beautiful view. I really recommend you to have hot spring in Xin-beitou.
To sum up, I had very great trips in this winter. Therefore, it is hard to face that winter vacation is over. However, I still look forward to seeing my classmates and teachers.
