Compare and Contrast- Draft One

Department Stores V.S. Mail-order

With the Internet becomes more and more convenient; people can shop not only in the department stores but also on the Internet. There are many famous shopping website, such as Yahoo! and Pchome. Oppositely, IDEE, SOGO, and Shin Kong are very well known department stores. Shopping by the Internet has many advantages, but I still like to shop in the department stores. The following essay will compare department stores with mail-order in three different points: fit or not, touch and feel the merchandise, and offer good after-sales service.

When you are buying the clothes, you would like it not only makes you look good but also fits your body. In the department stores, you can try on every clothes which you want to buy until you pay for it. However, the shopping webs don’t offer this kind of service. Customers might buy wrong size but they can’t change it. Therefore, you will waste your money to buy unsuitable clothes.

Besides, you will also want to know the material of clothes is good or not. Some kind of material of clothes doesn’t feel good and might make you feel uncomfortable. Therefore, it is important that you feel and touch the material of clothes before you buy. The shopping web only offer visual service but tactual service. Maybe the picture of the clothes looks good, but pictures can’t show the material is good or not.

Final, department stores can give well after-sales service which mail-order can’t offer. If you want to change the clothes you don’t like or don’t fit you, you just go to the department stores and change it. You can keep changing until you satisfied. Some shopping web will offer after-sales service but you need to pay the idle capital by yourself.

To sum up, mail-order is absolutely more convenient than department stores, but most customers will like to try on, to touch the clothes after they check the products. The most important thing is customers will want to change the wrong clothes anytime. No matter how progressive technology is, human nature still stands on the premier position.
